The British Radio Car Association (BRCA)
The BRCA exist to promote the construction and racing of radio controlled cars, to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas relating to the sport, to set the rules and standards for construction and racing and to encourage National and International competition.
Everyone can do their bit to help
The BRCA is only a collection of volunteers all doing their bit to ensure our hobby of racing radio controlled model cars continues to grow and develop, you should be proud of the fact that this collection of people are recognised as running one of the most respected RC Car Associations world wide.
However the most important point to remember is that all BRCA Officials are just ordinary racers who give their time for the hobby/sport they love, they are no different from anyone else, and all members should consider what they are putting back in to the sport. You should all help out in some way, at some level. It doesn't matter if its putting the track out at your club or organising a world championship, your contribution is at least as important as any of the other people involved in racing model cars.
The BRCA Past, Present and Future
The earliest record of the BRCA is to be found in an ancient magazine dated 1972. What's gone on in those years? Lots of technology introduced onto the cars, an explosion in the numbers department but more importantly, many tens of thousands of people enjoying what we do.
Club racing
Clubs have proliferated as a result of local enthusiasm. Our National series have been run successfully and have produced the right and worthy Champions.
World racing
BRCA members have travelled far and wide across the world to represent us and their sponsors with a very high level of success. We've hosted many events where the level of organisation would put some small country's governments to shame. Members of our organisation have represented us at European and World levels to shape the racing of the future, both on the track and behind the scenes. Our rules are read first as many other organisations follow our lead.
We have been seen in all the best places ranging from village fetes to full scale racing circuits. Our members have been the best insured, informed, organised and fairly treated throughout this period.
Racing into the future
The future? Who knows? But one thing's for sure whatever we are racing and wherever we are, the BRCA will be there, setting a standard for others to follow.
